O is for Owls

Wednesday, 7 December 2016

For our latest Alphabet Dating adventure Blair and I went to the Scottish Owl Centre, taking date inspiration from our good pal Alan Partridge.  I joked to friends beforehand that it would be interesting, as I thought it had potential to be a bit of a lame day out, BUUUUT it was actually amazing.

I think we went at the right time of year (the last Sunday of their public open hours in November, before they switch to private groups only for Dec/Jan), as it was fairly quiet so we got to walk around and see the owls without there being too many other people in the way (*cough* noisy kids *cough*).  There's tons of owls to see, from all corners of the world, and all shapes and sizes.

If you go I definitely recommend you check out the tiny owl section (so small!), and the live flying display (one flew so low it brushed past my hair!).  All in all, a great afternoon out.

I wasn't really planning on writing a blog post about it but I took so many photos of cute owls that I just had to share them, so enjoy!

That last one is called Tony and he's only 1.5 years old.  Awwww!
