Glasgow Review: Kothel Grill House

Tuesday, 29 November 2016

This weekend Blair and I popped through to Glasgow for lunch, after being recommended a place called Kothel Grill House thanks to CitizenMag.

Tucked away under the arches right next to Central Station, you'd be forgiven for walking past Kothel Grill House without realising it was even there.  It's a tiny tiny TINY wee quirky deli style cafe - the description in CitizenMag's review was of a "troll's house under the bridge" which is so true, it feels like you're dining in a Grimms fairy tale.  I don't mean that in a negative way btw - I'm all for interesting spaces!

Things & Stuff #2

Sunday, 27 November 2016
'Things & Stuff' is where I share the...emm...things and stuff that I've been enjoying recently.  I wrote the first one back in May with the intention of it becoming a monthly series.  That went well...!

  • Exciting news to start off with....we've bought a house!  It's a new build and should be ready for us to move in in January (we were originally hoping to be in before Christmas, but it kept getting delayed, as is the norm for new properties it seems!).   It's fairly close to where my parents live so we've been getting regular photo updates as the build progresses - it's been fun seeing it develop from a literal pile of bricks to an actual house with windows and doors!  At the moment they are working on the inside, and I can't wait to get in and see what it's like.  We've gone for a townhouse, so there's 3 floors, with a living room, kitchen/dining room, and WC on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the 1st floor, and a master bedroom with ensuite and dressing room on the 2nd floor.  Considering we currently live in a small 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom flat, it's going to be quite the change - and we've got so much stuff to buy!  So yes, link me your favourite interior/furniture websites in the comments please.

Kiehls #StayingAlive

Friday, 25 November 2016
A few weeks ago I popped over to Glasgow for a bloggers brunch at Kiehl's on Buchanan Street to hear all about their #StayingAlive campaign in association with MTV.

I actually didn't know a lot about Kiehl's as a brand.  I'd only really become aware of them in the last 2 years or so, after Blair put a couple of Kiehl's men's skincare bits on his Christmas list that he'd seen in a magazine (ahh girls, remember the days when you used to get skincare and makeup recommendations from magazines, not blogs?).
