I get out of bed between 7am and 7.30am, grab a new pair of daily contact lenses from my drawer and head into the bathroom. For Christmas I got a shower timer which I am currently using for my morning and evening routines and for showers. It's mainly so I don't spend too long in the bathroom, as being able to see the minutes count up makes you realise how long you're taking on each task. I also enjoy setting myself mini challenges - like 5 minutes to put my lenses in, get my face washed, and teeth brushed. At the moment I'm using the Vichy 3-in-1 Cleanser in the mornings - it's a nice gentle product which I find really soothing first thing in the morning.
Back in the bedroom I apply the Pixi Glow Tonic to my freshly washed face, and whilst it's drying I pick out my outfit for the day. Today I'm wearing my trusty black jeggings from Dorothy Perkins and a grey 2-in-1 shirt top from Primark, with a necklace from not on the high street which was a Christmas present from Blair.
I then apply the Origins Make a Difference+ Treatment which has been my daily moisturiser now for over 3 years - it's a gel formula which sinks in really quickly and leaves your skin feeling so soft, I love it. Whilst that's working its magic I like to set out all of the makeup products I'm going to be using, that way I won't forget anything when I'm doing my face in my still half asleep state.
Makeup is next, and at the moment I pretty much use the same 10 products every day - Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, No7 Instant Radiance Foundation, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, By Terry Ombre Blackstar Bronze Moon Cream Eyeshadow, Sleek Brow Perfector, Benefit Rollerlash Mascara, Natural Collection Blush, Sleek Highlighter, and Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Peach Club. A simple bronze eye and peachy red lip.
I tend to put minimal effort into my hair for everyday. As I have my shower in the evening (and wash my hair every second day) I don't need to blow dry my hair in the mornings. I generally just spray a bit of dry shampoo in the roots to give a bit of volume, brush through the ends and apply some oil if it's looking particularly dry. Some days I'll pin a bit up at the front into a wee quiff, but most days I just leave in a natural slightly-off-centre parting with a slight wave (I can't be bothered with straightening!).
I then get dressed, spray on some perfume and head into the living room where I'll pack my lunch away in my bag (providing I've been good and prepared something!). Shoes and coat on next, then if I've still got a bit of time before my bus is due then I'll sit on the sofa and have a flick through Twitter.
Finally, I'll pop my scarf and gloves on, grab my keys and head out to work!
So that's my Monday-Friday morning routine! At the weekends I don't really have a routine, as you will have seen here. I'm going to write an evening skincare routine post at some point next month so if you're interested in that sort of thing make sure you're subscribed!
