ginger and chocolate orange tiffin recipe

We had a Christmas bake off at work this week and I thought I'd share the recipe I put together as it was pretty damn tasty if I do say so myself.  I've never been one for baking cakes or muffins or anything that involves going in the oven, but I do make a mean traybake.  For our wedding I made a couple of different no-bake tiffins for our dessert table and they went down really well, so I decided to go with something similar for our bake off.

I took a malteaser traybake recipe that I used years ago and tweaked it slightly to make a festive sounding Ginger & Chocolate Orange Tiffin.  Oh my it was delicious!  If you like chocolate orange, then you have to try it!

(this made about 35 squares so obviously reduce these quantities if you want a smaller batch!)

250g unsalted butter
7.5 tablespoons golden syrup
500g milk chocolate
375g chocolate orange
400g crushed digestives
400g crushed ginger nuts

1) Melt the butter and golden syrup over a low heat
2) Add 250g of the milk chocolate and 250g of the chocolate orange to the pot and melt
3) Mix the crushed biscuits in a bowl and pour in the chocolate mixture
4) Line a square dish with baking paper or cling film and pour in the mixture
5) Melt the remaining chocolate and pour over the top
6) Place in the fridge for a few hours to set
