50 TV Shows from my Childhood

Saturday, 14 March 2015
Writing my Turning 30 post the other day got me in a proper nostalgic mood and I ended up in a major Wikapedia spiral reading about TV shows I used to watch when I was a kid.  I knew things had gone too far when I found myself on the Twitter profile of the girl who played Joggy Bear, looking at photos of her baby.

Wikipedia: enabling stalkers since 2001.

I decided to make a list of 30 TV shows from my childhood to tie in with my 30th birthday, but it has somehow ended up at 50, and could have easily been longer.  I think we can safely say that my TV addiction started early….

How many of these do you remember?

  1. Well, you've set me off down a Wikipedia and Imdb wormhole. A girl from The Worst Witch looked familiar (it turned out to be the character Enid) and she's the same girl who became Nancy in Hollyoaks and also voiced the Ghost of Christmas Past in Muppets Christmas Carol!

So many shows I remember here (and a few I don't).

  2. Wow, someone else who knows of the existence of Ramona! On the odd occasion when I have mentioned that programme to friends, they have no idea what I am on about! I have a random memory of an episode of Ramona wearing her PJ's to school under her school uniform.
Your list bought back lots of memories of some brilliant programmes I used to watch as a child.

  3. What a blast from the past, can't believe how much TV I watched that I forgot all about. Do you remember Woof as well? That was nuts!

  4. So many good shows! I think I've heard of most of them - we watched endless Superted and Rosie and Jim, oh and Sooty! The only other ones I can think to add are Brum, Are You Afraid of the Dark and Bernard's Watch... (I so badly coveted that watch so I could have a lie in every morning! I'd probably take it for the same reasons today actually ;))
