Notre Dame - Paris

As I've mentioned on here before, my job involves working with hotels - as such this means that through the year I go out to meet my clients and sometimes this involves getting to go abroad.  Last week was one of these occasions and I jetted off to Paris for the day - now normally on these trips I end up flying out in the morning, having a meeting all day then flying home at night (pretty exhausting) but this time I was lucky enough to get an overnight stay at the hotel which made the trip 10 times more exciting than usual!

As my flight home wasn't until 3.45pm the next day I decided to take the day as a holiday so I could take advantage of my time in Paris and do some sightseeing.  I booked myself onto an open top bus tour thinking it was the best way to see lots in a short space of time, although I didn't count on it raining the whole time and having to sit in the cold with no umbrella....still, there are worst places in the world to be cold and wet so I can't really complain.

The hotel I was staying at was the Le Bristol which is just around the corner from the Champs Elysee.  I know given my relationship with them I am slightly biased, but honestly the place is absolutely amazing - stunning traditional decor, really grand and opulent without feeling stuffy (I sometimes feel a bit out of place when I visit big fancy hotels, but I don't get that feeling at all here), the food is outstanding, and the rooms just feel so welcoming and homely - if I could afford it I'd stay here every time I visited Paris!  Oh also they have a beautiful hotel cat who just wanders around - I didn't see him this time but there's photos of him throughout the hotel (including on your "do not disturb" signs - so cute!).

I vlogged the trip which you can see on my Youtube channel - it's a pretty quick video since I wasn't there for long but you can see a tour of my hotel room and some of the sights of Paris from my bus tour.  My next meeting is booked in for April and I think I'll be bringing B along with me and making a weekend of it - can't wait! :)

  3. Lovely photos, the hotel looked very posh! I've only ever been to Paris once as a teenager and can't say I really appreciated it, so would love to go back now I'm older.

  4. What a gorgeous hotel - you did well not eating any of the mini bar, not sure I could have stayed so strong!
