I don't really write enough makeup posts on here any more so today I'm going to share my current five favourite lip products, as part of my August big five series.
It's funny, before I started this blog 18 months ago I pretty much never wore colour on my lips. I was a lip balm girl through and through, and didn't even own any lipsticks (I know!). For some reason I just had it in my head that I didn't suit colours on my lips, but once I got into reading blogs (and writing my own) I got a bit more adventurous with my makeup and now I wear some sort of colour every day.
Revlon Lip Butter - Pink Lemonade
This is a lovely light peachy pink colour which is ideal for a natural day to day look. It's my most worn shade, which you can probably tell from the picture as the stick is almost finished.
I lusted after this shade for ages after I saw it on a couple of blogs and it is the perfect coral matte. It does tend to be quite drying though so I usually add a layer of lip balm as a base so it lasts longer.
Revlon Lip Butter - Tutti Frutti
I love this bright orange shade and as with all the lip butters the colour is really buildable and it has a moisturising slightly glossy finish.
Collection 2000 Lasting Colour Lipstick - Pink Shock
This is an awesome bright neon pink matte shade which I love as part of a night out makeup look. As with the Topshop lipstick though it can be quite drying on the lips so I use a lip balm as a base to keep it from flaking.
Revlon Lip Butter - Macaroon
This is a lovely deep berry red with gold flecks - it's the darkest lip colour that I own and I wasn't sure at first if it would suit me as it's quite a bold choice for me, but I love it for winter with a fairly simple eye look.
As you can tell I mainly I mainly live in Revlon Lip Butters - I actually have 9 of them - but I'm trying to branch out and buy more matte lipsticks to mix things up a bit. Let me know if you'd recommend any brands I should try (I don't own any Mac lipsticks so I might give into the hype and try one of those next).
