Move over Benefit They're Real....so long Avon Super Enchant.....I've found a new holy grail mascara so I'm afraid you've been made redundant.

I'd been tempted to buy the Clinique High Impact Mascara (£16.50) for a while as Kate from Gh0stparties mentions it in a lot of her videos and her lashes always look AMAZING.  Also after looking at this cool mascara comparison table that Cosmo put together (I'm not being sponsored by them to promote it or anything, I just think it's awesome - definitely check it out if you're in the market for a new mascara), Clinique High Impact was my winner.

I bought this from Boots where it is currently selling for £16.50 which pricewise puts it just slightly cheaper than Benefit and just slightly more expensive than No7.  That might sound a bit pricy for a mascara, but I feel like  drug store / high street mascaras are getting so expensive now (generally £10+) that I'm quite happy to pay a couple of pound more for a premium product (providing of course that it works, I'm not one to just buy expensive things because I want the "brand").

This mascara is definitely worth the extra pennies though, the length and definition it gives my lashes is amazing.  I feel like it really makes my eyes pop and I look so much fresher and more awake once I've applied it.

The only negative point is that it is an absolute bitch to remove, although you do expect that with a waterproof mascara (they have a non-waterproof version which I kind of wish I'd bought instead).  I use the Bioderma micellar water to take off my makeup and I have to do a fair amount of rubbing to get rid of this from my lashes.  It's worth the elbow grease at night though to have gorgeous lashes all day (well I think so anyway, although if you hate having to spend time on makeup removal then I'd suggest going for the non-waterproof version).

I don't want this to run out any time soon so I've been rotating it with my other mascaras but my eyes definitely look much nicer on the Clinique High Impact days!  I have only been using it for a week or so though so I'm not sure of the longevity - if any of you have used it before let me know if you've had issues with it drying out really quickly as that's the one thing that annoys me about They're Real so I'm hoping this isn't the same!

  1. Ooh this does look good! I was super intrigued after Kate mentioned it so often but I'm in love with Bad Gal Lash by Benefit at the moment, it just gives me the look I'm after! My current tube is about to run out and I do have an awful lot of Boots points so I might treat myself x

  3. Oooh, love the look of this. I use They're Real but I hate how the tube dries out after about a fortnight. Why does that happen?!xx

  4. I must admit I'm a die hard They're Real fan, but this sounds amazing. And it's cheaper! I feel a purchase coming on...
