July Daily Snap Day 31: The End

Wednesday, 31 July 2013

Today marks the end of the July Daily Snap challenge and I'm so chuffed that I actually managed to see it all the way through!  I will admit some days it was really hard to find something to take a picture of, but I quite like that a lot of it was fairly dull as it gives you an actual insight into my day to day life (not that my life is dull, it's just normal!).  I don't know about you but I occasionally find myself feeling pretty envious of other bloggers lives as it always seems like they are up to something exciting, but then I guess that's because you don't document the everyday boring stuff.  So I hope this gives you a bit of reassurance that just because you aren't out doing something interesting every day it doesn't mean you are a bore....it just means you're normal!

So for my last day I've chosen a picture of my spare room which is all ready for my friend coming to stay tomorrow night.  We're off to a friends' wedding on Friday so she's staying with me until Saturday (I'm repaying the favour after I stayed at hers in London for the hen weekend).  So in anticipation of a house guest I've spent the night changing the beds, tidying the spare room, and cleaning the bathroom, and B is now going round with a hoover after cleaning the kitchen.  I'm knackered now, ready to settle down in front of the TV with some chocolate :)

As I've got a busy weekend ahead my blog is probably going to be neglected a bit but I'm off work on Monday so I'm hoping to get a bunch of posts written and scheduled (including a very exciting special series for August that I can't wait to get started on!).

Thanks for sticking with me this past 31 days - if you've managed to read every single one then you earn extra special brownie points :)

July Daily Snap Day 30: Bad

Tuesday, 30 July 2013

Tonight we are fiiiiinally getting round to watching the first half of season 5 Breaking Bad, ahead of the second half starting mid August.  I know everyone goes on about how good this show is but seriously, it is amazing.

I only signed up for Netflix like a week ago and I'm already a bit of an addict (am now up to S3 E9 of The Office - I'm like a machine!).  Having so many films and TV shows at my fingertips, and a speedy laptop to stream it all is such a novelty to me after years of having shitty slow netbooks.  I only wish it had existed back when I was at uni (actually scrap that, I'd have got very little done!).

July Daily Snap Day 29: Rain

Monday, 29 July 2013

The picture above was taken on our drive home from the gym - I just thought the sky looked really cool with the sun breaking through the rain clouds, so pretty!

In other news, guess who stupidly went to work today without a jacket on....  I don't even know why, it was was sunny when I left but I KNEW it was going to rain later but still I was like "ahh it's fine, I've got an umbrella".  FOOL!  My poor ankle boots are now sitting on an airer in an attempt to dry them out :(

Right I'm off to do an online Asda order (we have no food left - again) and then wash some bedding so my friend has a fresh bed to sleep in on Friday.

See you tomorrow! :)

July Daily Snap Days 27 & 28

Sunday, 28 July 2013

Hope you've all had a good weekend!

I spent pretty much all day Saturday watching The Office USA on Netflix (I think I got through like 15 episodes) - although I was also doing stuff at the same time, like tidying out my wardrobe and taking photos for ebay (so you know, just a bit lazy, not full on lazy!).

In the evening I headed through to Glasgow with Kirsty and Laura for a Scottish Bloggers meetup (arranged by the lovely Lynsey).  It was an informal meetup so we just spent the night drinking cocktails and having a gossip, and it was great fun.  I'm sure I've said it before, but we have such a lovely community of bloggers up here and it's always a pleasure getting to spend an evening together.  I think we're going to try and do something in Edinburgh during the festival next month so I'm looking forward to that already!

Now onto Sunday where I've had an extremely lazy day of catching up on TV and reading blogs.  I always feel like days like this go so fast though, and it was time to make dinner before I knew it.

I think I've got quite a busy week of work ahead, as I'm off Friday and Monday (got my friends' wedding on Friday then a full day of festival fun on Sunday).  Also I've got quite a bit of stuff to do around the house as my friend Anna is coming to stay Thurs/Fri so I need to wash bedding, tidy the spare room etc.  Busy busy!

I can't believe July is almost over already.  I've quite enjoyed doing the Daily Snap posts, even if about 80% of them have probably been very dull to read.  I might do it again later in the year, maybe in December as a run-up-to-Christmas feature?  We'll see!

July Daily Snap Day 26: Supermarket

Friday, 26 July 2013

Remember how earlier in the month my daily snap was about meal planning?  Well that was all well and good, but it goes to pot if you keep forgetting to take things out of the freezer in time.  This week I've been rubbish and we've had to make numerous trips to the supermarket - today being a classic example.  Sigh.

On the plus side though I did pick myself up a strawberry and lime cider and a Galaxy cookie crumble while we were there which I'll enjoy later whilst watching Big Brother (cannot WAIT to see Dan's face when he realises he's being evicted - HA in your face Dan!).

On an even more exciting note, whilst we were at the shops we also bought a water purifier for the fridge (I know what you're thinking....Lynne, stop rubbing our faces in your exciting life!).  The tap in our kitchen takes forever to get cold so I'm looking forward to having a supply of chilled water to drink in this stuffy heat!

I'm going to do a joint Saturday & Sunday daily snap again this weekend as I'm going out for drinks in Glasgow with some bloggers pals tomorrow night and won't be back till late.

Have a good weekend folks!

July Daily Snap Day 25: Home Alone

Thursday, 25 July 2013

I've had the flat to myself this evening as B is away to the Hibs game with his friend so I've spent the night singing along to a Disney playlist, watching more of The Office USA season 2, doing face masks, and ordering a Chinese.  Oooh yeah!

Boots Haul July 2013

After my hair appointment on Saturday I went for a wee wander along Princes Street and popped into Boots where I ended up spending about £65 despite only going in for hairspray and dry shampoo (damn you Boots, why do you always do this to me?!).

I thought I'd do a quick Boots haul post to show you what I bought - I'll then probably also end up doing full reviews on some of these products once I've had a chance to try them out properly.

I've recently rekindled my love for Porefessional after I used a little sample bottle the other day and was literally gobsmacked by how good a job it did.  I had tried a sample a year or so ago and quite liked it but wasn't blown away, so after finishing the sample I didn't repurchase.  I got another sample bottle in the gift set I won at the recent Benefit event though and the other day as I was starting my makeup I realised my pores looked massive so thought I'd use some of this to see if it helped and OMG I actually did a double take when looking in the mirror, it was literally like I'd airbrushed my face.  I've since finished the sample and had fallen so in love with it that it was right at the top of my wishlist.  As I walked into Boots I passed the Benefit counter (they need to move away from the front door....too damn tempting!) and decided to pick it up on a whim.

Whilst I was there the lovely Benefit lady pointed out that if you buy 2 Benefit products at the moment you get 750 Boots points on your advantage card (AKA £7.50).  So of course I decided to pick up something else....I went for the Dandelion blush as I had a small sample of this in the gift set mentioned above and it's a really nice colour on me (a lovely light pink).

Dove Colour Radiance Express Treatment Conditioner - £1.79 (usually £3.99)
When I was in the hair salon I was reading Heat magazine and saw an ad for this which jogged my memory as I was sure I'd seen some beauty bloggers rave about it recently (don't ask me who!).  I had the Intensive Repair one in my hand but then noticed they also did one for coloured hair so picked that up instead.  Dove is on half price in Boots at the moment so this was only £1.79 (can't see it on the website so no link I'm afraid).

Hairspray was one of the things I actually needed and I headed straight for the Elnett section as this is my all-time favourite.  The heat protectors are new and the one for curls drew my eye as I'm planning on wearing my new short hair in beachy waves most days so this will hopefully be ideal.

The other thing I needed was dry shampoo and luckily good old Batiste was also on offer at the moment so I got a bargain.  There were lots of scents & types on offer, I was a bit overwhelmed to be honest and didn't know which to pick so just grabbed the nicest looking bottle (ha!).

July Daily Snap Day 24: Nails

Wednesday, 24 July 2013

I have a confession to make....I'm a nail biter.  I'm going to blame my dad for passing on this delightful trait.  About a year ago I kicked the habit and grew my nails for about a month - my mum was so excited she bought me a load of nail polishes which are unfortunately now languishing in a drawer as I fell off the wagon a few weeks later.

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm going to a wedding next week and I've decided that my little stumpy nails aren't going to cut it so I'm making a last ditched attempt to grow them before next Friday.  Tonight I've been painting on a "help your nails grow faster" type lotion (I've peeled the label off so can't actually remember what it's called) - I did that last time and it helped stop me biting as it leaves your nails nice and glossy which puts me off sticking them in my mouth.

Fingers crossed it works as I really want to paint my nails to match my outfit and have proper "girl" nails for once!

July Daily Snap Day 23: Outfit

Tuesday, 23 July 2013

Today I've finally got an outfit sorted for my friends' wedding next week.  The picture above is a wee sneak peek of what I'm going to be wearing, although I'll do a full outfit post after the actual wedding.

I've gone for a cute powder blue dress from Dorothy Perkins and teamed it with a neon coral boucle blazer from ASOS and a gold and coral necklace from New Look.  Neon coral and blue don't necessarily sound like a great combo (and it certainly doesn't scream "wedding") but I think it goes really well together!  Now all I need is a pair of shoes, a bag, and maybe a belt and some other jewellery.

Video: ASOS Haul

A few months ago I entered a competition to win £200 of ASOS vouchers, courtesy of Casino Choice, and amazingly I won!  I've pasted my original entry below.

ASOS is one of my favourite websites for clothes shopping (it's probably one of my most viewed websites after Twitter, Facebook and Blogger!) so I was so excited to go on a spending spree.  I ended up buying 11 items although I'm sending a couple of them back so will give you an update when I have replaced the returns.

As it was a good old haul I thought it was worth doing a video, so check that out below.

My winning entry!

July Daily Snap Day 22: Pizza

Monday, 22 July 2013

So we were supposed to go to the gym today and instead we ended up ordering a Dominos.  Discipline.  I have none.

In other news, I signed up for Netflix at the weekend as I now have a decent laptop so streaming is pain free.  I've been making my way through series 1 of The Office USA tonight as I've never actually watched it before (despite the UK original being one of my favourite shows ever).  I'm loving it so far - was almost crying with laughter at the Dwight in a box episode!

If you're also a Netflix user let me know if there's anything I should be adding to my watch list....so far I've not found the catalogue that easy to browse through.

Hair Makeover at Medusa

Sunday, 21 July 2013

Hey folks - say hello to the new me!  I had a hair appointment at Medusa this Saturday and ended up having a bit of a makeover.

I originally made an appointment for my usual highlights, but after doing a bit of searching on Pinterest for hair inspiration I decided to move to the dark side.  After a discussion with my stylist Jill we decided to go for a toffee/caramel colour which was darker at the roots and lighter at the ends for a subtle ombre look.  She used a new colouring technique where you mix the colour with Wella Colour ID which turns the mixture into a thick paste.  As the colour is quite solid it's ideal for ombre-ing as you can add different colours in strips without them running into each other.  I ended up with 2 layers of colours - a darker toffee at the roots and then a caramel through the mid lengths, leaving the ends as they were (light blonde).  After washing off the Colour ID a toner was then added to warm up the ends, leaving me with a really lovely natural looking colour with a subtle ombre.

As well as a big colour change I also decided to go for a big style change and got it chopped into a long layered bob.  I've been growing my hair for about a year and unsurprisingly once it got fairly long I decided I was fed up with it and wanted it short!  I always loved the idea of having really long hair but the reality of it is that the upkeep is a pain in the bum (blowdrying took FOREVER).

I'm now super excited about how quickly I'm going to be able to get ready in the morning now.  I'm thinking upside down blowdry, quick scoosh of salt spray, a bit of scrunching and I"m good to go.  Amazing.

Before shot

Step 1 - cut done and main colours in

Post-toner

Ready for a blow-dry

Ta da!

July Daily Snap Days 19 & 20

Saturday, 20 July 2013

I didn't do a Daily Snap post yesterday as my photo of the day was taken on a night out where I didn't get home till after midnight, so I thought I'd just combine 2 days into one.

So first up, Friday.  I went to a charity night at the Liquid Rooms in aid of SANDS Lothian with some of my friends.  It was called "A Quarter of Hits" with DJ's playing music from the last 25 years - it was so hot inside though that we spent the whole time out in the beer garden where there was a BBQ (mmm burgers), a tuck shop (mmm sweeties) and it was quiet enough to actually have a conversation (I'm getting so old!).

Beforehand we'd met up at Bar Kohl for some cocktails and a quick round of shooters - I went for a USA which had bubblegum vodka, grenadine and blue curaƧao - it was pretty nice (for a shot anyway), in fact they all went down well apart from poor Sam's which tasted as bad as it smelt (baileys and rum anyone?).

I was pretty sensible and after those drinks at Bar Kohl I stuck to diet coke at Liquid Rooms and went home at half 12.  I had a hair appointment booked for the Saturday morning and the thought of sitting in a salon for several hours whilst feeling hungover did not appeal.

That leads me on nicely to today's photo which was taken at my hair appointment at Medusa.  I've gone for quite a dramatic change which is exciting - I'll put a full post up tomorrow with before & after photos so keep an eye out for that!

July Daily Snap Day 18: TOO HOT

Thursday, 18 July 2013

Right I know I shouldn't really complain about the heat as it's quite rare we get such nice weather in Scotland, and it's probably going to be back to cold and grey soon, but OH MY GOD IT IS TOO BLOODY HOT!!

I am most definitely not a summer girl - I don't do holidays in the sun, or beach holidays purely for the reason that I get extremely cranky if I have to sit out in the sun.  Even in this country I have no interest in sitting out in the sun.  It's partly because I'm a pale mary who burns at the merest hint of sunshine, and partly because I just hate feeling hot (sweaty, shiny, red skin is not attractive).  Basically I am not a big fan of summer....I love Spring and Autumn, and Winter I can give or take (I have a love/hate relationship with snow, I am paranoid of slipping on icy pavements, but I love how Christmassy everything looks).

The last few days have been really hot in Edinburgh and it's getting unbearable in our office.  Even with a fan in my face I still go home feeling horribly sticky and grubby - if only it was socially acceptable to work in your pants!!

Back home it's even worse - when we first moved into our flat (in the winter) we were really chuffed at how little we needed to heat it to keep warm, with the small rooms retaining the warmth really well (especially compared to our old flat which was huge, but cold).  In the summer though we have the opposite problem and coming home from a day at work it's like walking into a greenhouse - soooo stuffy and horrible.  Even having the windows open doesn't seem to be making much difference, our thermostat currently reads 28 degrees :(

So in summary - despite today being a picture perfect, gorgeous sunny day, I am in a foul mood.  I'm actually tempted to go jump in a cold shower.  Bring on Autumn ;)

Hahah, what a bloody ungrateful cow I am.

July Daily Snap Day 17: Shiny

Wednesday, 17 July 2013

Ahhhh look how beautiful my new Macbook is!  I am so excited to finally have a decent laptop, it's so fast I can't quite believe it!

Looking forward to having a much easier time blogging and editing videos etc from now on.

In other news, our internet was down for 4 hours at work today, and given that I work at an internet marketing agency that made things pretty difficult.  You soon realise how reliant you are on the internet when it's taken away from you.  Luckily it came back just after lunch so I managed to get everything done that I'd planned so could leave as planned at 5.30.

Fingers crossed it's all back to normal tomorrow!

Mens Primark Haul July 2013

To my surprise B came home from work on Friday with 2 big Primark bags - I think I'm being a bad influence on him!

As he was showing me the stuff he'd bought we played a game of "guess how much?" (a Scottish favourite).  I ended up over-estimating on most things although to be fair, I'm pretty sure the Primark mens stuff is a bit cheaper than the womens!

I thought it would be quite fun to do a haul post (even though it's not my haul to share!) so I asked B for some comments I could add alongside the photos and prices (and my guesstimates).

He's actually going to be getting a little bit more involved in my blog soon, as I'm in the process of planning a special series for next month which I'm really excited about.  Watch this space!

black polo shirt - £4 (my guess - £4 - woo!)
B says: "a classic, will go with anything"

burgandy shorts - £6 (my guess - £10)

checked shorts - £6 (my guess - £10)
B says: "the soaring Scottish heat prompted this extravagant purchase!"

striped polo - £5 (my guess - £4)

purple v-neck tee - £2.50 (my guess - £3)

cobalt blue v-neck tee - £2.50 (my guess - £3)
B says: "this will compliment the blue check shorts for a bright holiday outfit"

berlin tee - £5 (my guess - £4)
B says: "bought this with our holiday to Berlin in mind"

burgandy trainer shoes - £8 (my guess - £10)
B says: "I'm a big fan of red.  These are ultra comfy and a great price"

sunglasses - £3 (my guess - £3)

sunglasses - £2 (my guess - £3)

sock pair - £2 (my guess - £2)

tan wash bag - £4 (my guess - £4)
B says: "An impulse buy from near the till, although it's something I don't already have"

July Daily Snap Day 16: Gym

Tuesday, 16 July 2013

This is what happens when you go to the gym for the first time in 2 weeks, on a hot day: you only last 30 minutes and you leave a red, sweaty mess.  Fun times.

Oh and by the way, I totally didn't order a Chinese the minute I got home.  No sirree!

In other news, I got a dispatched email through from Very to say my Macbook Air is on it's way, so fingers crossed it should be here tomorrow night.  Soooo excited!

July Daily Snap Day 15: Deliveries

Monday, 15 July 2013

Yaaay deliveries!!  The huge ASOS order that I placed after winning the £200 vouchers arrived today, along with a Dorothy Perkins order that I placed last week.  I'm looking for an outfit to wear to my friends wedding in a few weeks time and as I hadn't really picked anything "weddingy" from ASOS I chose a couple of dresses from DP's to try.  Will be spending the rest of this evening having my own wee fashion show trying everything on.  Cannot. Bloody.  Wait.

One Dress 3 Ways: #2 Cream Lace

I quite enjoyed doing the last One Dress 3 Ways - I love playing a bit of dress up, and putting together outfits is one of my favourite things to do - so I thought I'd do another one (check me out, actually sticking to a series for once).

Ths time I've chosen my cream lace skater dress from River Island.  I bought this dress last year and loved the fit and shape of it so much I bought it again in black (they also had it in a powder blue that I really wanted but it sold out super fast).  For me this is one of the most versatile dresses in my wardrobe and I've worn it in many different iterations over the last year.  For this post I've put together 3 different looks - casual, girly and going out.

When I took the photos I had absolutely no makeup on and my hair was up in a messy ponytail so I've done you all a favour and cut my head out of the pictures!

Look 1 - Casual

For this casual outfit I've paired the dress with a purple/blue jumper from Primark (I love the diamante shoulders) and nude pink accessories.  The pumps, bag and bracelt bundle are from Primark, while the necklace is from Jelly Button Jewellery.

Look 2 - Girly

For this girly look I've added a coral cardigan from Dorothy Perkins, the belt, pumps and bag are all from Primark.  I'd also include a floral hairband with this look (if I wasn't hiding my face!).

Look 3 - Going Out

For this final look I've shown how you could toughen up a pretty white ace dress and make it work for a night out.  I've teamed it with a lace back cardigan from New Look, a studded belt, studded clutch and teal & silver necklace from Primark, and wedge shoe boots from New Look 915 (no longer in stock, have linked similar).

Which is your favourite?

July Daily Snap Day 14: Sunday

Sunday, 14 July 2013

Today has been my typical Sunday - a bit of house chores, a bit of blogging, and a bit of TV.  I quite like easing myself into the week so we don't tend to do anything particularly exciting on a Sunday, saving that for Saturdays instead.

So today I spent most of the morning watching my subscriptions on Youtube (loved Zoe and Tanya's 90s tag, and Louise's summer lookbook) and writing up some posts for this week.  After a quick lunch (scotch pie from the Morrisons bakery - what a fatty) I took some outfit photos for my next "One Dress 3 Ways" and did my weekly tidy up of my wardrobe (if I just hung clothes up every day rather than chucking them in there I wouldn't have this problem...).

The afternoon was spent on boring chores like cleaning the bathroom (urgh - the worst job ever), followed by TV and more blog reading/Youtube watching.  For the rest of the evening I'm planning on cooking us dinner, having a shower (and a wee pamper sesh with some face and hair masks) and then watching some TV in bed.

One of the more exciting things that happened today though was that I bought myself a Macbook Air(!).  At the moment I just have a little Acer notebook and it's sooo slow - it's actually painful to use (it even takes about 5 minutes to just load up Google).  I've been toying with the idea of buying a Macbook for ages but it's so expensive that I just haven't been able to afford it.  I decided recently though that I'd use my work profit share/bonus at Christmas to buy myself a Macbook, but once that idea was in my head I couldn't really face having to wait until December so instead I bought it from Very on "Buy Now Pay Later"* (and then I can still use my bonus to pay it off at the end of the year).  It should be here by Thursday so I only have to put up with this shitty little netbook for a few more days.....cannot WAIT!

*I do understand that BNPL and using credit to buy expensive things that you can't really afford isn't the most sensible plan so I'm by no means promoting/encouraging you to do the same.  I'd only suggest using this type of scheme to buy something if you know that you will have the money to pay it back when you need to.

July Daily Snap Day 13: Road Trippin

Saturday, 13 July 2013

Today we tested out our new sat nav (ahead of our visit to Pitlochry next month, which will be the longest drive we've done in our car) and drove through to visit B's sister who lives near Stirling.  The journey there and back was soundtracked by Now Dance, with us having a wee singalong to some 90's classics (I was a bit distressed to discover that I can't remember the Saturday Night dance....kept getting it muddled with the Macarena!).  The views on the way into the town B's sister & her fiance live in were amazing - they have a stunning hilly backdrop, it felt like we were out in the country, even though it's only about 10 mins away from Stirling.

After a quick flat tour we all jumped in the car and drove to nearby Bridge of Allan for a pub lunch.  I opted for fish & chips which was yummy, washed down with a Kopperburg Strawberry and Lime cider (I love the Rekorderlig version of this but they didn't have it - turns out the Kopperburg one tastes exactly the same, and they popped a fresh strawberry and slice of lime in the glass which was a nice touch).

With no room for the ice cream we'd earlier planned on having we went for a little wander round the town in the sun, doing a bit of window shopping, before jumping back in the car back to the flat for some teas (water for me.....how people can drink cups of tea on hot days like this is beyond me!).  Before we headed back to Edinburgh his sister introduced us to the horror that is Strictly Baby Disco.....needless to say it was one of the most disturbing things I've watched this year (little girls in makeup completely freaks me out....it reminds me of scary dolls!).

Now safely back home we're planning a quiet night in in front of the TV.  We stopped off at the supermarket on the way back to pick up some chocolate and I also got myself a frozen berry daiquiri (after B's sister mentioned that they were on offer just now) - so looking forward to drinking that later!

July Daily Snap Day 12: Brushes

Friday, 12 July 2013

How rock and roll am I eh, spending my Friday night cleaning my makeup brushes*?!  It has to be done though, I've been putting off doing it for about 2 weeks now, just doing spot cleaning with makeup remover (which is no substitute really).  So they were in definite need of a proper deep clean!

I've been using baby shampoo for a while now as a brush cleaner and it works really well, leaving the bristles silky soft and smelling lovely and fresh.

I hope you're having a more exciting Friday night!  I'm off for a day trip to Stirling tomorrow to visit my boyfriends' sister so at least tomorrows update will be a bit more interesting.

*I did finish off the bottle of sparkling wine from Tuesday whilst doing it though.

You Go Glen Coco #4

I went through a phase recently of not really reading blogs - I think I reached the point where I had like 300+ unread posts on Bloglovin after a week or so of not reading and when I went on I didn't know where to start so just put off tackling it and instead only read posts that people I followed on Twitter posted links to.

The other weekend though I woke up a bit earlier than my boyfriend for once so decided to go through all my unreads on the Bloglovin app and finally got myself up to date.  Now that I'm properly back into the swing of things I thought it was time I did another one of these "blogger love" type posts, highlighting a couple of posts I've loved reading recently.

Dainty Dresses - 15 Facts About Prince

Here's a fact you might not know about me - I'm a cat lady (without a cat).  I cannot WAIT until we buy our own house so we can get a cat.  My family had cats when I was growing up, so when I was living at home I was used to having a cat or two around the place.  Basically I love cats (you get the picture...cats cats CATS!).  So imagine my delight when Charlene starting posting cutey pics of her new kitty Prince on Instagram....I love him! This is a funny wee post featuring 15 facts about the little fella - go check it out now (unless you hate cats....and if so, GET OFF MA BLOG!).

Milk Bubble Tea - Chocolate and Marshmallow Fluff Pie

Sod calorie counting...sod the 5:2 diet....sod weight watchers etc....how bloody yummy does this look?!  Becky always posts the most amazing looking sweet recipes and this is the latest one.  It sounds so simple to make too, I'll definitely be making one soon.

Hello Terri Lowe - WTF Topshop: Psychadelic Summer Edition

This post made me laugh this morning - I too often see stuff on Topshop and the like that makes me think "what the HELL is that?" and I'm glad to see it's not just me (was beginning to think I was just getting old).

Thank Fifi - Salvator Hotel, Parga

Wendy's post makes me want to jump on a plane and go on a holiday in the sun pronto.  Her holiday snaps from Greece look beautiful, and that hotel is absolutely stunning.  I'm not normally a beach/pool sun holiday girl but that view is enough to convince me that I should change my mind.

So there we go, that's a few of the bloggers I've been enjoying recently - I hope you found a few new reads!

July Daily Snap Day 11: eBay

Thursday, 11 July 2013

Evening!  I don't know about you but I am TERRIBLE at accumulating clothes and shoes and bags and jewellery and belts (the list goes on) that I wear a couple of times and then get bored of.  Or even worse, things that I've bought and then never actually worn.  It's so easy to sell your stuff online these days that it makes me feel even more guilty when I see piles of unworn clothes sitting in my wardrobe, knowing full well that I could be making myself some money from it! Same goes for unwatched DVDs, unloved CDs, and old phones etc - it's so easy to turn this into cash if you put your mind to it.

I  tend to go through phases of selling stuff on eBay (usually in the run up to Christmas) and every time I do it I think "this is awesome, I should do it more often" but inevitably I get lazy and the novelty wears off.

A month or so ago I photographed a selection of dresses that I was planning on putting up on eBay and I have FINALLY gotten round to adding them tonight.  I could do with making some money in the run up to my holiday in September so I'm going to try and be good and continue the eBay cycle once I've sold this lot (as I've got literally boxes of stuff that I don't wear or use any more that could be going to nice new homes!).  In my resolutions at the start of the year I did say that I wanted to make £1,000 from eBay this year - and so far I'm at a big fat zero so I'm going to need to get my skates on if I want to meet that target by the end of December.

If you fancy buying any of my things (clothes sizes 18/20)  then you can check out my eBay page.
