January Haul: Primark & Topshop

Large Primark brown paper bags

I went for a wee post work shopping spree at Primark the other night (going in the evening is soooo much better, the shop is half empty and is tidy, and tiny queues for the changing rooms and checkout) and managed to pick up quite a lot of stuff.  I know how much everyone loves a Primark haul post (I do too!) so here's a bunch of photos for you to feast your bargain hunter eyes on.

I was actually planning on doing this haul as a Youtube video but after doing a wee test with my camera I discovered that the sound quality is pretty crap so I decided against it.

This cute wee crochet/lace cardie will look nice over spring/summer dresses

Primark studded shoulder purple jumper
jewel sweater £8.00

This jumper actually caught my eye as I was on my way to the escalator and I ended up buying it without even trying it on.  I've had it on like 3 times in the last week and a half though, so it was definitely a good impulse buy!  It's a lovely soft cotton and the diamantes really dress it up nicely.  They also had it in a pinky purple so I might go back and get that too!

LOVE this dress - it caught my eye the minute I walked into the shop.  Will probably have to wear it with a white vest underneath as the lace back is completely see through - although it will also go nicely with the cream cardi I bought too.

Primark black daisy top dress
daisy organza skirt dress £15

This is a nice going-out type dress that looks more expensive than it is.  The top half is fitted and then it has a lovely floaty layered skirt (the back is plain black).

Primark coral hooded top

I've already got this hoodie in lilac and it's perfect for throwing over a t-shirt at the gym (I like that I can stick my iphone in the pocket so when I've got headphones on the wire isn't getting in my way).  The one I picked up didn't actually have a price tag on it so when I was at the checkout the girl was like, ah I'll just put it down as a fiver - it was probably supposed to be a bit more than that so I got myself a bargain!

Primark strawberry jam and toast pyjamas
toast & jam pyjamas: top £3.50 bottoms £5.00

Primark panda pyjama top
panda pyjama top £3.00

I definitely don't need more pyjamas but I was pulled in by the cuteness!  I couldn't find trousers to match the panda top but just bought it anyway - and the toast and jam ones are totally cheesy but I like them!

Onto the accessories now.  I went in with the intention of buying a new bag for work but was actually quite disappointed with their range - normally I find loads of bags that I like but this time it was a bit "meh".  I quite liked a few of the small overbody bags, and lots of the clutch bags, but that's not really what I was needing.  When I started looking at the jewellery though I stumbled across a display with some black and white bags and accessories and this black one caught my eye.

I realised that I don't actually have a plain black bag at the moment, so thought this would be ideal for work as it looks quite professional, has plenty room for my lunch and notebooks etc and at £12 it was a pretty good deal.  I did have to look through about 5 different ones before finding a bag without scratches all over it though - so annoying when that happens, the bags have clearly been getting chucked about all over the place so are covered in marks.

I've been looking for a netbook cover for ages and recently discovered that my wee netbook has pretty much the same dimensions as an ipad which has made my search so much easier.  This one caught my eye when I was looking in the bag section - it's nice and classic looking, and is the perfect fit for my netbook.  And only £4!

Primark cream studded skinny belt
spike stud skinny belt £2.50

Primark 3 pack bracelets
3 pack friendship bracelets - £1.50 each

Primark 6 pack rings
6 pack rings £2

I picked up these jewellery bits as most of my jewellery at the moment is pretty chunky - like big bangles and huge statement rings - and is really impractical for work as it just gets in my way when I'm typing at my desk (my bracelets are forever clunking on the desk).  These are nice and simple and shouldn't bother me too much for day to day wear.

Primark limited edition mint and purple necklace
dipdye chain necklace £3 (was £8)

Primark limited edition mint and purple necklace

This is one of my favourite purchases - I saw it before Christmas but was put off by the £8 price tag (I know, what a cheapskate) and the fact that I wasn't sure it would go with any of my outfits.  When I was in last week though I saw it had been reduced down to just £3, and given that I've also picked up a purple jumper that I knew would go perfectly with a mint dress I had at home I thought it was meant to be.

I also bought a few things on the Topshop website recently so thought I'd "haul" (urgh I don't really like that word, but it seems to be thing to call these posts and it's what people search for...so "haul" it is) that too.  Nothing too exciting really - some socks on their 3 for £8 deal, a lip crayon in a gorgeous bright pink, and a lipstick in the coral shade called "whimsical" (I've been lusting after this one for ages after first seeing it on Kate from gh0stparties' blog).  Really impressed with the lipsticks so far, so will probably write a proper post on them soon.
