It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Sunday, 2 December 2012
I know it's only the 2nd of December and the traditionalists among you will probably be going "noooo it's far too early" but I don't care - my Christmas tree is up!!

This is B and I's first Christmas in our new flat, and as it's much smaller than our old place I wasn't really sure where we were even going to fit a tree in our living room but in the end we did a bit of furniture shifting and it all fitted in fine.

We had got rid of our old tree and most of the decorations in the move last year (we moved house at the end of Dec/start of January...I know that sounds a bit like the worst time of year to move house but it wasn't as stressful as it sounds!) so we needed to buy all new stuff this year.  Rather than spending loads of money buying pretty decs from Next or somewhere we just went to our nearest Poundstretcher (which is handily a 5 minute drive) and picked up a tree and pink/purple decs (to match our living room colour scheme) for grand total of £30!

We spent this Sunday afternoon moving a bookcase into the spare room and putting up the tree and stuff - it took HOURS (as you can see from the fact the before pictures are in the light and the after pictures are in the dark!) but it's now finally done and I think it looks lovely (if I do say so myself....).  Feast your eyes on these festive photies :)

  4. I really love those decorations! Can't believe they're from Poundies! Then again, when I go in there I don't get much further than the sweetie and crisps section...
