Empties #2

Tuesday, 6 November 2012
Hmm I probably should have written my 2nd Empties post about a month ago....it's been so long since the last one I've got loads of products to write about!  As with the last one, I'll try keep the comments for each product to a minimum so the post doesn't end up being massive!

L'Oreal Elvive Nutri-Gloss Shine Cream Conditioner
I picked this up on a whim a few months ago when I was looking for a cheapish shampoo and conditioner as it was nearing the end of the month (i.e I was skint) and I needed new hair stuff.  I think I was pulled in by the bright pink packaging mainly, lol.  As with all drugstore conditioners this leaves your hair feeling lovely and soft and shiny, but only if you like cover your hair in the stuff.  Don't think I'd repurchase.

Organix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner
Now this I really liked - my hair felt amazing everytime I used it.  And it was relatively cheap too (although it's a pretty small bottle) - will definitely repurchase.

Mango & Papaya Shower Gel
This came in a shower gel set I got for Christmas last year.  Pretty standard fruity shower gel - smelled yummy and did the job.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor
I've been using this for years now and it's pretty much my go-to conditioner.  Smells delicious and leaves my hair silky, soft, shiny and smooth (all the S's!).

Lee Stafford Blow Dry Your Hair Faster Spray
I've actually just bought another bottle of this and I'm not sure why....I haven't noticed any real decrease in hair drying time (in fact I timed it once as a test, one day with the spray and the other without and it was pretty much the same time to the second!).  I use it mainly as a heat protector though as I'm bad for blow drying my hair without using any products.

Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Twice a Week Brightening Shampoo
I used this a lot when I had my hair really light blonde - it was great for keeping my hair from going brassy.  Also I had purple hair a while back and it helped to keep that from fading too quickly too.  I'm starting to go a bit darker with my blonde now though so I won't really need to use again unless I go back to platinum at some point.  Would definitely recommend this if you want to keep your blonde hair silver/platinum as it does work.

Tesco Wake Up! Coconut & Mango Shower Creme
Again this is a pretty basic fruity shower gel - one of those ones where you're in the supermarket and remember you are running low on shower gel so just pick up a random one from the toiletries aisle.

Skin Doctors Accelerating Cleanser
I wasn't sure if I should keep this in here or not as I actually used it about 2 years ago and just found it randomly the other day.  It had about 2 uses left in it so I used it for 2 days before it was finished.  It's a scent free foaming cleanser from the Australian skincare brand Skin Doctors.  I think I bought it a few years ago when I was looking to start using "proper" skincare products rather than my trusty old face wipes, and for some reason picked this online (must have had good reviews!).  I can't remember if it was any good when I used it before, but on the 2 occasions that I used it recently it left my skin looking feeling really soft and my pores looked smoothed out.  Not sure I'd repurchase though as I'm quite attached to my REN and Origins products at the moment!

Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser
I've written a full review of the Yves Rocher Pure System range, but to summarise I really liked this!

I'll try make this a monthly feature from now on so I don't have so much to write about each time!

  1. I love Empties posts as they're a great way of finding new products. I haven't seen Organix conditioner anywhere before and it sounds great, I'll definitely be looking to give that a try :) xx
