House of Fraser Blogger Style Challenge

Tuesday, 14 August 2012
House of Fraser is not somewhere that I normally shop to be honest, I'm not sure why, maybe it's because I used to work at Debenhams, so I feel guilty for moving over to the other side!!

But when I was contacted by HoF recently and asked to take part in their blogger style challenge I ended up spending literally hours looking through the site and was really impressed by their collection - it was so much fun doing a virtual shop!  Will definitely be checking out their site more often as I saw tons of stuff I'd actually buy in real life too (although some of it is a bit out of my price range at the moment, but I do like the occasional splurge!).

The challenge was to pick your favourite new season pieces and create a look. As I'm going to Paris next month I thought I'd use this as inspiration and create a holiday wardrobe I've called "Weekend in Paris".

I've created two looks - one that I'd wear for daytime sightseeing and one for a romantic night out.

Paris by Day

The Look: Smart but casual jumper (love the tie detail on the back) and jeans combo, dressed up with a cute sparkly brooch and some gold tipped flats. Makeup wise I'd go for a fresh faced look, with neutral eyes and pretty pink flushed cheeks. Keeping with the Paris theme I'd go with the new DKNY Be Delicious I Heart Paris as my signature fragrance for the weekend.

This ensemble would be perfect for an afternoon walking along the Champs Elysee, eating pastries in a little French cafe, or cosying up and enjoying the view at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Paris by Night

The Look: A classic Little Black Dress with some sparkly silver accessories and a little cover-up in case it gets a bit chilly in the evening. To finish off the look I'd go for bright lips and big lashes.

This would be a sophisticated and chic outfit, perfect for dinner at a fancy French restaurant followed by a moonlit boat cruise along the Seine and then cocktails in the hotel bar.

Have you taken part in the HoF Blogger Style Challenge yet?  Leave me a link to your entry in the comments - I am nosey minx!  Oh, and I'm so glad there wasn't a price cap on this like the ASOS blogger challenge - I would have failed miserably!
